The Community of Congregations is an interfaith organization serving the areas of Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois, as well as surrounding communities.
The Community of Congregations is an interfaith organization serving the western corridor of the Chicago region. Various ministries in the area grew up with the support of the Community of Congregations, including Housing Forward, Beyond Hunger, and Celebrating Seniors. The Holiday Food and Gift Basket program continues under Community of Congregations with grant support from Youth Services of Oak Park and River Forest Townships. In addition, we sponsor a variety of programs and multi-faith gatherings throughout the year including an annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, one of the oldest such programs in the Chicagoland area. The Village of Oak Park is partnering with the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic to host a series of free Know Your Rights workshops that focus on immigration issues in and around the community. This session, the second in a series, is being held in partnership with the Community of Congregations.
This free event is open to the public and registration is not required.
